CBE JU 2025 funding streamlined and budget increased

CBE JU founding partners have amended the partnership’s annual work programme to increase the call for projects budget to €172 million and to update its topics. Some CBE JU-specific requirements have changed, and the deadline to submit project proposals is extended.

13 call topics clarified

The amendment includes updates of all 13 call topics based on clarification requests received form applicants. Browse the topic of your interest to discover the updated text.


Budget increased for several topics

The call for project proposals budget has increased to €172 million. All innovation actions – flagship topics now have a budget of €20 million, all innovation actions topics - a budget of €14 million, and all research and innovation actions topics – a budget of €7 million.


CBE JU-specific requirements updated

The section 2.2.3.1 of the work programme is amended to reflect changes in the description of feedstock, ex-ante and ex-post environmental performance assessment, and the economic aspects of innovation actions – flagships. The requirement on recommendations to stakeholders has been removed.


STEP Seal open to excellent proposals

Project proposals exceeding all of the evaluation thresholds set in the work programme will receive  the STEP Seal, a label to increase the visibility of quality proposals and help attract alternative and cumulative funding.


Call opening and submission deadline changed

The call for project proposals will now open a day earlier, on 3 April 2025. The deadline is extended to 18 September 2025, at 17:00 Brussels time.
