Call for stakeholders to join the working group on primary producers

CBE JU invites stakeholders to apply to the working group on primary producers, a new initiative focused on addressing challenges faced by primary producers in implementing circular bio-based solutions. The group aims to ensure that the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sectors benefit from their involvement in innovative bio-based value chains while contributing to sustainability and economic growth.

Objectives of the working group

The primary objectives of the working group are to:

  • Enhance the role of primary producers in circular bio-based systems and value chains.
  • Ensure that primary sectors benefit from the economic, social, and environmental opportunities offered by circular and bio-based innovations.

The group will focus on identifying actionable solutions to key challenges, such as limited integration in value chains, financial and regulatory barriers, and insufficient access to knowledge and infrastructure.

 

Who can apply?

Stakeholder organisations from the following types are encouraged to apply:

  • Primary producers with a legal entity or organisations working closely with them, such as cooperatives and advisory services.
  • Regional stakeholders and networks representing primary producers.
  • Entities engaged in fostering innovation in the agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and aquaculture sectors.

The working group seeks a balanced membership, ensuring representation across EU regions, sub-sectors, and different types of primary production.
